Complimentary Approaches

The focus on energy healing as a supplementary offering to complement evidence informed practice and psychological strategies is at the core of my work these days as a registered and accredited mental health professional occupational therapist.

I have trained in different types of reiki, yoga and meditation and need to let these aspects of my work shine through when they are called for. By no means is this a ‘one size fits all’ as complementary approaches are only one set of helpful techniques I may incorporate into my therapy sessions, and are not the most effective modality for everyone. Nature, trees and animals are also at the heart of my work, and I find it is the weaving through of these concepts found in ancient wisdom, nature therapy, animal assisted therapy and relating to biophilia and outdoor programs.

I have always feared they are not going to be as respected alongside my 3 decades of building health professional skills. And yet I am reaching back into my ancestry, into the earth, and into the universe for answers to my own health and wellbeing, my own rhythms and my individual pulsation in the world. So it’s time to blend these into my eclectic work as a therapist and trust people will like what I offer. I provide sessions for inividuals seeking this blend of approaches and training for other professionals building skills in this developing sector of allied health and wellbeing.
